the misadventures of brian leery
harmless? bananas! is the collective thoughts of brian leery in blog form. I write under this pseudonym because it’s a more interesting last name than koh, not that I’m ashamed of my heritage. my real name is brian though.
I uttered my first words onto the blogosphere and started the original harmless? bananas! in 2003 and set up an interim blog in mid 2009, but I’m still pretty much the same person behind the keyboard.
I was born in 1982, raised in Singapore and spent three and a half years in Perth where I pursued my undergraduate studies in Media Studies and Mass Communications at Murdoch University. I currently live in Singapore.
In my spare time, I play bass in various bands and projects, listen to too much music, make videos, play video games recreationally, spend an average amount of time reading and maintain various other blog projects.
My interests lie in the field of music, writing, culture, technology, media and communications and my first job was with a public relations agency where I worked with clients such as Intel and PlayStation. My work involved client servicing, project management, technical writing and media relations in both traditional and social medias.
As far as careers go, I am intending to move into the areas of content producing, writing or teaching.
In the meantime, I run harmless? bananas! as my personal journal, and a blogzine dubbed singularity industries that explores and discusses today for a better tomorrow. These two blogs are housed under the litford network that makes use of the new publishing powers given to ordinary people in the Web 2.0 era.
